(Armageddon—The Battle Pt 3)

    The day of the Lord (the day that Jesus returns at the Battle of Armageddon) is one day. At that time, those who belong to Jesus, in Jerusalem and Judah, will be strong in the Lord. When Jesus returns, He will destroy the yokes from off His people. The Lord will defend Judah and Jerusalem.
    However, the kings of the earth shall set themselves against the Lord. But the righteous, who fear God, will be victorious.
    When Jesus returns, families will be crying; they will be split up and separated. The heathen will have an abundance of wealth. Though there be much gold and silver, none of these riches will be able to save the wicked. Nothing will be able to deliver them from the Lord’s wrath when He comes.
    When Jesus returns, all the people will be humbled. The trees, mountains, and tall buildings will be made low. The proud looks on men’s faces will be gone.
    The enemies of God and Israel—the wicked, the proud, and those that do not obey the Gospel—will be destroyed and broken into pieces. They shall perish and be punished with everlasting destruction.

1-(A Main Commentary)

    God is a jealous God. When He returns, He is furious. He will take vengeance on His adversaries.
    Jesus shall seek to destroy all nations that come against Jerusalem and Mount Zion. The house of Esau will no longer remain.
    The Lord Jesus has been very patient. He has tolerated man’s rebellion and disobedience. Now, upon His return, He will destroy and devour at once.
    When He returns, the kingdom of the Antichrist shall be destroyed. It will be smashed to pieces; there will be nothing left.
    The day of the Lord is neither light nor dark. It is a day of wrath. It is a day when the question is asked, "Who shall be able to abide or stand?" It is a day when the question is asked, "When the Son of Man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth?"

2-HOW LONG A TIME IS THE DAY OF THE LORD?
WHAT TIME OF DAY DOES THE LORD JESUS RETURN?

    The Scriptures tell us the "day of the Lord" is one day. It appears to begin at evening (which is when the Jewish day begins).
    It is written, Zech 14:7-BUT IT SHALL BE "ONE DAY" WHICH SHALL BE KNOWN TO THE LORD, NOT DAY, NOR NIGHT: BUT IT SHALL COME TO PASS, THAT AT EVENING TIME IT SHALL BE LIGHT. The following words are noted, "NOT DAY, NOR NIGHT…IT SHALL COME TO PASS…AT EVENING." Could this be referring to the time of day that Jesus will return, Israeli time? AT EVENING…IT SHALL BE LIGHT. Jesus is often referred to as light. Will it be "at evening" when Jesus returns? In part 4H-3, it has been noted that Jesus is expected to return on the "Day of Atonement."
    Isa 10:17-AND THE LIGHT OF ISRAEL SHALL BE FOR A FIRE, AND HIS HOLY ONE FOR A FLAME: AND IT SHALL BURN AND DEVOUR HIS THORNS AND HIS BRIERS IN ONE DAY. Again, we note, it will be "one" day.
    Multitudes of other verses also bear witness that the day of the Lord, the day when the Battle of Armageddon takes place, is one day long.

3-THE HEATHEN RAGE

    The kings and rulers consider what they will do against the Lord and against His Anointed One. Though the heathen rage, plot, and imagine things against Him, the Lord in heaven shall laugh and scoff at them.
    Ps 2:1-4-WHY DO THE HEATHEN RAGE, AND THE PEOPLE IMAGINE A VAIN THING? THE KINGS OF THE EARTH SET THEMSELVES (or take their stand), AND THE RULERS TAKE COUNSEL (or gather) TOGETHER, AGAINST THE LORD, AND AGAINST HIS ANOINTED (One), SAYING, LET US BREAK THEIR BANDS (or chains) ASUNDER, AND CAST AWAY THEIR CORDS (or fetters) FROM US. HE THAT SITTETH IN THE HEAVENS SHALL LAUGH: THE LORD SHALL HAVE THEM IN DERISION (or scoffs at them).

4-PROPHECY THAT THE RIGHTEOUS SHALL BE VICTORIOUS

    In the day Jesus returns, those that fear God will go forth and tread down the wicked. The wicked will be as ashes under their feet.
    Mal 4:2,3-BUT UNTO YOU THAT FEAR MY NAME…YE SHALL GO FORTH…AND YE SHALL TREAD DOWN THE WICKED; FOR THEY SHALL BE ASHES UNDER THE SOLES OF YOUR FEET IN THE DAY THAT I SHALL DO THIS, SAITH THE LORD OF HOSTS.

5-HOW THINGS ARE

    Isa 24:8-10 NIV-THE GAIETY OF THE TAMBOURINES IS STILLED, THE NOISE OF THE REVELERS HAS STOPPED, THE JOYFUL HARP IS SILENT. NO LONGER DO THEY DRINK WINE WITH A SONG; THE BEER IS BITTER TO ITS DRINKERS. THE RUINED CITY LIES DESOLATE; THE ENTRANCE TO EVERY HOUSE IS BARRED.

6-FAMILIES WILL BE SEPARATED

    As Jesus returns, families will be crying; they will be split up.
    Zech 12:12-14-AND THE LAND SHALL MOURN, EVERY FAMILY APART; THE FAMILY OF THE HOUSE OF DAVID APART, AND THEIR WIVES APART; THE FAMILY OF THE HOUSE OF NATHAN APART, AND THEIR WIVES APART; THE FAMILY OF THE HOUSE OF LEVI APART, AND THEIR WIVES APART; THE FAMILY OF SHIMEI APART, AND THEIR WIVES APART; ALL THE FAMILIES THAT REMAIN, EVERY FAMILY APART, AND THEIR WIVES APART.

7-THERE SHALL BE GREAT WEALTH GATHERED TOGETHER

    At the time Jesus returns, the heathen will possess an abundance of wealth, including gold, silver, and clothing.
    Zech 14:14-AND THE WEALTH OF ALL THE HEATHEN ROUND ABOUT SHALL BE GATHERED TOGETHER, GOLD, AND SILVER, AND APPAREL, IN GREAT ABUNDANCE.

8-NOTHING SHALL DELIVER THEM IN THE DAY OF THE LORD

    In the day Jesus returns, nothing will be able to save the wicked. Their gold and their silver will be useless. Riches will not profit. Jesus shall quickly destroy them. It is the day of His wrath. In one day, sin will be removed from the land.
    Zeph 1:18-NEITHER THEIR SILVER NOR THEIR GOLD SHALL BE ABLE TO DELIVER THEM IN THE DAY OF THE LORD'S WRATH; BUT THE WHOLE LAND SHALL BE DEVOURED BY THE FIRE OF HIS JEALOUSY: F
    Pv 11:4-RICHES PROFIT NOT IN THE DAY OF WRATH.
    It is written, Zech 3:9-I WILL REMOVE THE INIQUITY OF THAT LAND IN ONE DAY. Again, the Scriptures reveal that the day of the Lord will be "one" day.

9-SHALL BE BROUGHT LOW

    In the day that Jesus returns, not only shall the people be humbled or made low, but also the trees, mountains, high towers or buildings, and more. The proud looks of man will be gone.
    Isa 2:11-18-THE LOFTY LOOKS OF MAN SHALL BE HUMBLED, AND THE HAUGHTINESS OF MEN SHALL BE BOWED DOWN, AND THE LORD ALONE SHALL BE EXALTED IN THAT DAY. FOR THE DAY OF THE LORD OF HOSTS SHALL BE UPON EVERY ONE THAT IS PROUD AND LOFTY, AND UPON EVERY ONE THAT IS LIFTED UP; AND HE SHALL BE BROUGHT LOW: AND UPON ALL THE CEDARS OF LEBANON, THAT ARE HIGH AND LIFTED UP, AND UPON ALL THE OAKS OF BASHAN, AND UPON ALL THE HIGH MOUNTAINS, AND UPON ALL THE HILLS THAT ARE LIFTED UP, AND UPON EVERY HIGH TOWER, AND UPON EVERY FENCED WALL, AND UPON ALL THE SHIPS OF TARSHISH, AND UPON ALL PLEASANT PICTURES. AND THE LOFTINESS OF MAN SHALL BE BOWED DOWN, AND THE HAUGHTINESS OF MEN SHALL BE MADE LOW: AND THE LORD ALONE SHALL BE EXALTED IN THAT DAY. AND THE IDOLS HE SHALL UTTERLY ABOLISH.
    Isa 40:4-EVERY VALLEY SHALL BE EXALTED, AND EVERY MOUNTAIN AND HILL SHALL BE MADE LOW: AND THE CROOKED SHALL BE MADE STRAIGHT, AND THE ROUGH PLACES PLAIN.

10-PROPHECY AND EXHORTATION THAT THE WICKED

    In the day that Jesus returns, the wicked (the enemies of God and Israel) will be destroyed. They will flee and try to hide, but it will do them no good. They will be as fuel for a burning fire. Those that are:

  • God’s enemies
  • Those that despise Israel
  • All that do wickedly
  • The wicked
  • All the proud
  • All that hate Him
  • All the adversaries of the Lord
  • The sons of Belial
  • The ungodly
  • The evildoers
  • Those that are cursed of God
  • The sinners
  • The transgressors
  • Those that were incensed against God
  • Those that strive with the Lord
  • Those that sanctify themselves, eating swine’s flesh and rats
  • Those that have said, "Where is the Lord, thy God?"
  • Those that devour thee (Israel or the saints)
  • Those that do not know God
  • Those that do not obey the Gospel

    This is what happens to them:

  • They shall be scattered
  • They shall flee
  • They shall be as stubble
  • They will not have root or branch left
  • They will be destroyed
  • They will be broken to pieces
  • They will be as thorns thrust away
  • They shall perish
  • They shall be cut off; their horns shall be cut off
  • He shall wash His feet in the blood of the wicked
  • He (the Lord) will not be merciful
  • The Lord shall laugh at them
  • They shall be consumed out of the earth
  • They will be no more
  • They will be confounded
  • They will be as nothing
  • They will be consumed
  • They will be trodden down in the street
  • They shall be devoured
  • They shall be threshed
  • They shall be beaten in pieces
  • He will take vengeance on them
  • Punished with everlasting destruction

    Deut 7:10-AND (He) REPAYETH THEM THAT HATE HIM TO THEIR FACE, TO DESTROY THEM: HE WILL NOT BE SLACK TO HIM THAT HATETH HIM, HE WILL REPAY HIM TO HIS FACE.
    Ezek 28:26-WHEN I HAVE EXECUTED JUDGMENTS UPON ALL THOSE THAT DESPISE THEM ROUND ABOUT THEM; AND THEY SHALL KNOW THAT I AM THE LORD THEIR GOD.

    Mal 4:1-FOR, BEHOLD, THE DAY COMETH, THAT SHALL BURN AS AN OVEN; AND ALL THE PROUD, YEA, AND ALL THAT DO WICKEDLY, SHALL BE STUBBLE: AND THE DAY THAT COMETH SHALL BURN THEM UP, SAITH THE LORD OF HOSTS, THAT IT SHALL LEAVE THEM NEITHER ROOT NOR BRANCH.
    Mic 4:11-13-MANY NATIONS ARE GATHERED AGAINST THEE…BUT THEY KNOW NOT THE THOUGHTS OF THE LORD, NEITHER UNDERSTAND THEY HIS COUNSEL: FOR HE SHALL GATHER THEM AS THE SHEAVES INTO THE FLOOR. ARISE AND THRESH, O DAUGHTER OF ZION: FOR I WILL MAKE THINE HORN IRON, AND I WILL MAKE THY HOOFS BRASS: AND THOU SHALT BEAT IN PIECES MANY PEOPLE: AND I WILL CONSECRATE THEIR GAIN UNTO THE LORD, AND THEIR SUBSTANCE UNTO THE LORD OF THE WHOLE EARTH.

    Obad 1:15,16-FOR THE DAY OF THE LORD IS NEAR UPON ALL THE HEATHEN: AS THOU HAST DONE, IT SHALL BE DONE UNTO THEE: THY REWARD SHALL RETURN UPON THINE OWN HEAD. FOR AS YE HAVE DRUNK UPON MY HOLY MOUNTAIN, SO SHALL ALL THE HEATHEN DRINK CONTINUALLY, YEA, THEY SHALL DRINK, AND THEY SHALL SWALLOW DOWN, AND THEY SHALL BE AS THOUGH THEY HAD NOT BEEN.

    Ps 37:9,10-FOR EVILDOERS SHALL BE CUT OFF. FOR YET A LITTLE WHILE, AND THE WICKED SHALL NOT BE: YEA, THOU SHALT DILIGENTLY CONSIDER HIS PLACE, AND IT SHALL NOT BE.
    Ps 37:22-THEY THAT BE CURSED OF HIM SHALL BE CUT OFF.
    Ps 37:34-WHEN THE WICKED ARE CUT OFF, THOU SHALT SEE IT.
    Ps 58:10-THE RIGHTEOUS SHALL REJOICE WHEN HE SEETH THE VENGEANCE: HE SHALL WASH HIS FEET IN THE BLOOD OF THE WICKED.
    Ps 59:5-THOU THEREFORE, O LORD GOD OF HOSTS, THE GOD OF ISRAEL, AWAKE TO VISIT ALL THE HEATHEN: BE NOT MERCIFUL TO ANY WICKED TRANSGRESSORS. SELAH.
    Ps 59:8-BUT THOU, O LORD, SHALT LAUGH AT THEM; THOU SHALT HAVE ALL THE HEATHEN IN DERISION (You scoff at all those nations-NIV).
    Ps 68:1-LET GOD ARISE, LET HIS ENEMIES BE SCATTERED: LET THEM ALSO THAT HATE HIM FLEE BEFORE HIM.
    Ps 75:10-ALL THE HORNS OF THE WICKED ALSO WILL I CUT OFF.
    Ps 104:35-LET THE SINNERS BE CONSUMED OUT OF THE EARTH, AND LET THE WICKED BE NO MORE. BLESS THOU THE LORD, O MY SOUL. PRAISE YE THE LORD.
    Ps 145:20-THE LORD…ALL THE WICKED WILL HE DESTROY.
    Pv 2:22-BUT THE WICKED SHALL BE CUT OFF FROM THE EARTH, AND THE TRANSGRESSORS SHALL BE ROOTED OUT OF IT.
    1 Sam 2:10-THE ADVERSARIES OF THE LORD SHALL BE BROKEN TO PIECES; OUT OF HEAVEN SHALL HE THUNDER UPON THEM: THE LORD SHALL JUDGE THE ENDS OF THE EARTH.
    2 Sam 23:6-BUT THE SONS OF BELIAL SHALL BE ALL OF THEM AS THORNS THRUST AWAY, BECAUSE THEY CANNOT BE TAKEN WITH HANDS.
    2 Thes 1:7-9-THE LORD JESUS SHALL BE REVEALED FROM HEAVEN WITH HIS MIGHTY ANGELS, IN FLAMING FIRE TAKING VENGEANCE ON THEM THAT KNOW NOT GOD, AND THAT OBEY NOT THE GOSPEL OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST: WHO SHALL BE PUNISHED WITH EVERLASTING DESTRUCTION FROM THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD, AND FROM THE GLORY OF HIS POWER. Note, it did not say they will be punished who don’t "know" what the Gospel says, but those who don’t "obey" the Gospel shall be punished.

11-JESUS WILL TREAD DOWN THE PEOPLE

    God is a jealous God. He is furious. The day of vengeance is in the heart of Jesus. He will take vengeance on His adversaries. He has reserved wrath for His enemies and will reward those that hate Him. He will execute vengeance, such as the people have never heard. The time for Jesus to repay the wicked has come. He will tread down the people in His anger.
    It is written, Deut 32:41-IF I WHET (or sharpen) MY GLITTERING (or flashing) SWORD, AND MINE HAND TAKE HOLD (or grasps it) ON JUDGMENT; I WILL RENDER (or take) VENGEANCE TO MINE ENEMIES, AND WILL REWARD THEM THAT HATE ME.
    Isa 1:24-THEREFORE SAITH THE LORD, THE LORD OF HOSTS, THE MIGHTY ONE OF ISRAEL, AH, I WILL EASE ME OF MINE ADVERSARIES, AND AVENGE ME OF MINE ENEMIES.
    Isa 63:4-6-FOR THE DAY OF VENGEANCE IS IN MINE HEART, AND THE YEAR OF MY REDEEMED IS COME. AND I LOOKED, AND THERE WAS NONE TO HELP; AND I WONDERED THAT THERE WAS NONE TO UPHOLD: THEREFORE MINE OWN ARM BROUGHT SALVATION UNTO ME; AND MY FURY, IT UPHELD ME. AND I WILL TREAD DOWN THE PEOPLE IN MINE ANGER, AND MAKE THEM DRUNK IN MY FURY, AND I WILL BRING DOWN THEIR STRENGTH TO THE EARTH.
    Mic 5:15-AND I WILL EXECUTE VENGEANCE IN ANGER AND FURY UPON THE HEATHEN, SUCH AS THEY HAVE NOT HEARD.
    Nah 1:2-GOD IS JEALOUS, AND THE LORD REVENGETH; THE LORD REVENGETH, AND IS FURIOUS; THE LORD WILL TAKE VENGEANCE ON HIS ADVERSARIES, AND HE RESERVETH WRATH FOR HIS ENEMIES.
    Ps 108:13-THROUGH GOD WE SHALL DO VALIANTLY: FOR HE IT IS THAT SHALL TREAD DOWN OUR ENEMIES.
    Ps 147:6-THE LORD…HE CASTETH THE WICKED DOWN TO THE GROUND.

12-DELIVERANCE

    Isa 19:20-AND IT SHALL BE FOR A SIGN AND FOR A WITNESS UNTO THE LORD OF HOSTS IN THE LAND OF EGYPT: FOR THEY SHALL CRY UNTO THE LORD BECAUSE OF THE OPPRESSORS, AND HE SHALL SEND THEM A SAVIOR, AND A GREAT ONE, AND HE SHALL DELIVER THEM.
    Ps 9:10-AND THEY THAT KNOW THY NAME WILL PUT THEIR TRUST IN THEE: FOR THOU, LORD, HAST NOT FORSAKEN THEM THAT SEEK THEE.

13-JESUS HAS WAITED A LONG TIME TO DO THIS

    Jesus has waited a very long time. He has tolerated man’s rebellion and disobedience. Now the time is up. He will destroy and devour at once.
    Isa 42:14-The Lord says, I HAVE LONG TIME HOLDEN MY PEACE; I HAVE BEEN STILL, AND REFRAINED MYSELF: NOW WILL I CRY LIKE A TRAVAILING WOMAN; I WILL DESTROY AND DEVOUR AT ONCE.

14-I HAVE COMMANDED

    Isa 13:3-I HAVE COMMANDED MY SANCTIFIED ONES, I HAVE ALSO CALLED MY MIGHTY ONES FOR MINE ANGER, EVEN THEM THAT REJOICE IN MY HIGHNESS. Although this verse applies to the past, it also seems to apply to this time as well. The identity of "My sanctified ones" is unclear.

15-IT IS NEITHER LIGHT NOR DARK

    The day of the Lord shall not be clear or dark. It shall not be day or night. At the evening time, it shall be light.
    It is written, Zech 14:6,7-AND IT SHALL COME TO PASS IN THAT DAY, THAT THE LIGHT SHALL NOT BE CLEAR, NOR DARK: BUT IT SHALL BE ONE DAY WHICH SHALL BE KNOWN TO THE LORD, NOT DAY, NOR NIGHT: BUT IT SHALL COME TO PASS, THAT AT EVENING TIME IT SHALL BE LIGHT. 

16-IT IS A DAY OF WRATH

    The day of the Lord is a day of wrath (or trouble and distress). It is a day when Jesus will pour out His indignation and wrath.
    It is written, Zeph 1:15-THAT DAY IS A DAY OF WRATH, A DAY OF TROUBLE AND DISTRESS, A DAY OF WASTENESS AND DESOLATION, A DAY OF DARKNESS AND GLOOMINESS, A DAY OF CLOUDS AND THICK DARKNESS.
    Ro 2:8-BUT UNTO THEM THAT ARE CONTENTIOUS, AND DO NOT OBEY THE TRUTH, BUT OBEY UNRIGHTEOUSNESS, INDIGNATION AND WRATH.

17-WHO SHALL BE ABLE TO STAND?

    It is written, in Rev 6:17-FOR THE GREAT DAY OF HIS WRATH IS COME. Then it asks the question, AND WHO SHALL BE ABLE TO STAND? The answer to this is, no one will be able to abide or stand, except those that have trusted Jesus and belong to Him.
    It is written, Mal 3:2-BUT WHO MAY ABIDE THE DAY OF HIS COMING? AND WHO SHALL STAND WHEN HE APPEARETH? FOR HE IS LIKE A REFINER'S FIRE, AND LIKE FULLERS' SOAP.

18-JESUS ASKS, "WHEN THE SON OF MAN COMETH, SHALL HE FIND FAITH?"

    Jesus asks the question, regarding when He returns, "Shall He find faith on the earth?" Most of the people that had trusted in Jesus were martyred. There are only a few true believers left. The Lord is insuring their protection. They will go into the Millennium. Thus, nearly everyone that is left when He returns are the wicked, who have bowed down to the Antichrist. When Jesus returns, He will find almost no faith left on the earth.
    It is written, Lk 18:8-I TELL YOU THAT HE WILL AVENGE THEM SPEEDILY. NEVERTHELESS WHEN THE SON OF MAN COMETH, SHALL HE FIND FAITH ON THE EARTH?

    Jesus parts the heavens. He returns with darkness under His feet and dark clouds around Him. He returns upon a white horse, and the saints are with Him. The Lord flies. He rides upon a cherub. He comes with many chariots like a whirlwind.
    Jesus returns to punish the world for their sin. He has been patient for a very long time. The wrath of the Lord is upon all nations. They shall be like blind men, because they have sinned against the Lord. This dreadful and terrifying battle (or day of the Lord) is one day long.
    The Antichrist and the kings of the earth, with their armies, are gathered together to make war against Jesus. Multitudes are in the valley of decision. The Lord goes forth to fight. The Bible indicates that Jesus will execute vengeance such as the heathen cannot even imagine.
    As He returns, lightnings will lighten the world. Great cracks of thunder occur. Some people will be struck with lightning; trees and buildings will also be struck—many will die.
    Jesus’ feet shall stand upon the Mount of Olives. The mount shall split in two, from east to west, and will form a very large valley. Part of the mountain moves to the north and part to the south. The Lord shall fight for Mount Zion.
    The Antichrist stands up against Jesus, but shall be broken by spiritual power. Jesus shall consume him with the breath of His mouth and shall destroy him with the brightness of His coming. Both the Antichrist and the false prophet shall be cast alive into the lake of fire. His power is taken away and completely destroyed.
    Jesus will save the dwellings of Judah, first, and, then, Jerusalem. The Lord will defend them. All that have chosen to fight against Jerusalem shall be cut to pieces; their flesh shall rot away while they are still standing on their feet. Their eyes will rot or disintegrate in their sockets, and their tongues will rot away in their mouth.
    What happens next is almost beyond comprehension. Jesus does not use one or two weapons. Apparently, He uses every destructive force of (what we call) nature, together, at the same time. The result is immense devastation. Jesus roars out of Zion. He smites the earth with His Word. He goes forth with flames of fire. The earth and the enemies of Jesus are devoured with fire. The sword of the Lord is filled with blood. The mountains are melted with the blood of the dead.
    A great panic comes upon the people from the Lord. They go berserk and attack each other. The camels, horses, mules, and other animals do the same. There is pandemonium. People go mad. Vehicles stop working. Volcanoes erupt all over the earth, producing great smoke. Massive earthquakes occur, simultaneously, worldwide. The entire earth trembles. The foundations of the hills move. Mountains plunge into the sea. Jesus speaks, and the mountains move.
    And then it happens: the greatest earthquake (since man has existed) takes place. All over the earth, cities, towns, houses, mountains, and trees fall. Jerusalem is divided into three parts. Every island flees away. The mountains, as we know them, will no longer exist. Both small and great mountains of the world crumble. As they come down, plateaus should take their place.
    Even as these things are happening, huge hailstones fall from the sky. Each one weighs between 70 to 100 pounds. With their dying words, people are blaspheming God. The fierceness of God’s wrath, against rebellion and sin, is now making itself known.
    As this occurs, great and mighty wind storms strike the earth. Hurricanes, tornadoes, monsoons, cyclones, and every possible wind storm and whirlwind can be expected to come forth.
    While this is taking place, Jesus goes forth to trample the people throughout the earth, even as grapes are crushed in a great winepress. Their blood is poured out like dust.
    Meanwhile, the kings of the earth and their armies are gathered in Israel to fight against the Lord Jesus. Perhaps 200,000,000, or more, troops are gathered. They are as grapes that are fully ripened. Their sin has come to the full. They are pictured as grapes in a great winepress that stretches for about 200 miles. They shall be squashed. Their blood flows, rising as high as the horses’ bridles, for about 200 miles. The surviving people are terrified. Fear and the pit await them.
    As the Battle of Armageddon comes to a close, there is little resemblance left of the earth as it is today. The foundations of the world are discovered. The earth has melted and is broken down. It is clean dissolved and split asunder. It is emptied and spoiled. The earth has moved like a drunkard and has been completely shaken. It has moved out of its place. It has been made a waste.
    God’s enemies submit. The war ceases.
    A great number of people are now dead. The birds gather from around the world to eat the flesh of the corpses. The amount of people left alive will be so few that a child could write the number.
    The names of the idols are cut off out of the land.
    An angel from heaven catches Satan and binds him for a thousand years. He is cast into the bottomless pit. He is shut up, and a seal is placed on him, so that he cannot deceive the nations any longer till the thousand years are finished. The kings that are left alive and the wicked spirits, in heavenly places, are punished. They shall be shut up in the pit.
    The war is over. Only one day has passed.
    The judgment of the nations is now at hand. The elect shall be gathered. For one thousand years, Jesus shall reign as the King of kings and Lord of lords. There shall be peace.
    So many preachers and people do not understand the fear of the Lord. It may have never entered their mind that Jesus would do such things. They do not understand that God is a jealous God. They do not understand judgment. God has tolerated man’s rebellion for a very long time. But now that time has ended. During the Tribulation, the people of the world had taken the mark of the Antichrist. They had worshiped him and his image. Sin had come to the full. Mankind’s rebellion against God will be brought to a very abrupt end.
    It is written, Isa 34:1-COME NEAR, YE NATIONS, TO HEAR; AND HEARKEN, YE PEOPLE: LET THE EARTH HEAR, AND ALL THAT IS THEREIN; THE WORLD, AND ALL THINGS THAT COME FORTH OF IT.

21-THE LORD GOES FORTH TO FIGHT: DARKNESS IS UNDER HIS FEET; HE DID FLY

It is written, 2 Sam 22:10-HE BOWED (or parted) THE HEAVENS ALSO, AND CAME DOWN; AND DARKNESS WAS UNDER HIS FEET.
    Ps 18:9-HE BOWED THE HEAVENS ALSO, AND CAME DOWN: AND DARKNESS WAS UNDER HIS FEET.
    2 Sam 22:12-AND HE MADE DARKNESS PAVILIONS (or His canopy) ROUND ABOUT HIM, DARK WATERS, AND THICK CLOUDS (or dark rain clouds) OF THE SKIES.
    Ps 18:11-HE MADE DARKNESS HIS SECRET PLACE; HIS PAVILION ROUND ABOUT HIM WERE DARK WATERS AND THICK CLOUDS OF THE SKIES.
    2 Sam 22:11-AND HE RODE UPON A CHERUB, AND DID FLY: AND HE WAS SEEN UPON THE WINGS OF THE WIND.
    Ps 18:10-AND HE RODE UPON A CHERUB, AND DID FLY: YEA, HE DID FLY UPON THE WINGS OF THE WIND.
    Isa 31:5-AS BIRDS FLYING, SO WILL THE LORD OF HOSTS DEFEND JERUSALEM; DEFENDING ALSO HE WILL DELIVER IT; AND PASSING OVER HE WILL PRESERVE IT.

22-THE LORD’S FEET STAND UPON THE MOUNT OF OLIVES

    Jesus returns just as was prophesied. He was taken up into heaven from the Mount of Olives. Now, the Lord returns to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their sin. The Lord comes, and all the saints are with Him. He returns to fight. The armies of the world are gathered together. He returns to the Mount of Olives. As His feet touch down upon the Mount of Olives, there appears to be a great earthquake.
    The mountain will be split in two from the east to the west. The huge valley or canyon that is created will run east and west. Half of the mountain will move north, and the other part will move south.
    It is written, Isa 26:21-FOR, BEHOLD, THE LORD COMETH OUT OF HIS PLACE TO PUNISH THE INHABITANTS OF THE EARTH FOR THEIR INIQUITY: THE EARTH ALSO SHALL DISCLOSE HER BLOOD, AND SHALL NO MORE COVER HER SLAIN.
    Zech 14:2-5-FOR I WILL GATHER ALL NATIONS AGAINST JERUSALEM TO BATTLE; AND THE CITY SHALL BE TAKEN (or captured), AND THE HOUSES RIFLED, AND THE WOMEN RAVISHED; AND HALF OF THE CITY SHALL GO FORTH INTO CAPTIVITY, AND THE RESIDUE (or rest) OF THE PEOPLE SHALL NOT BE CUT OFF FROM THE CITY. THEN SHALL THE LORD GO FORTH, AND FIGHT AGAINST THOSE NATIONS, AS WHEN HE FOUGHT IN THE DAY OF BATTLE. Note the order of events:
    1. All nations gathered against Jerusalem.
    2. The city captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped.
    3. Half of the city shall go into exile, but the rest not taken.
    4. "Then" shall the Lord go forth and fight.
    AND HIS FEET SHALL STAND IN THAT DAY UPON THE MOUNT OF OLIVES, WHICH IS BEFORE JERUSALEM ON THE EAST, AND THE MOUNT OF OLIVES SHALL CLEAVE IN THE MIDST THEREOF TOWARD THE EAST AND TOWARD THE WEST, AND THERE SHALL BE A VERY GREAT VALLEY; AND HALF OF THE MOUNTAIN SHALL REMOVE TOWARD THE NORTH, AND HALF OF IT TOWARD THE SOUTH.
    Reportedly, seismic studies of this area reveal a large fault, running east and west, through the Mount of Olives. Thus, it would appear, the fault is ready for the feet of Jesus to touch down.

    AND YE (the chosen ones of God) SHALL FLEE TO THE VALLEY OF THE MOUNTAINS; FOR THE VALLEY OF THE MOUNTAINS SHALL REACH UNTO AZAL: YEA, YE SHALL FLEE, LIKE AS YE FLED FROM BEFORE THE EARTHQUAKE IN THE DAYS OF UZZIAH KING OF JUDAH: AND THE LORD MY GOD SHALL COME, AND ALL THE SAINTS WITH THEE.

23-THE LORD SHALL FIGHT FOR MOUNT ZION

    The Lord will come and fight for Mount Zion and for the hill thereof.
    It is written, Isa 29:8,9-IT SHALL EVEN BE AS WHEN AN HUNGRY MAN DREAMETH, AND, BEHOLD, HE EATETH; BUT HE AWAKETH, AND HIS SOUL IS EMPTY: OR AS WHEN A THIRSTY MAN DREAMETH, AND, BEHOLD, HE DRINKETH; BUT HE AWAKETH, AND, BEHOLD, HE IS FAINT, AND HIS SOUL HATH APPETITE: SO SHALL THE MULTITUDE OF ALL THE NATIONS BE, THAT FIGHT AGAINST MOUNT ZION. STAY YOURSELVES, AND WONDER; CRY YE OUT, AND CRY: THEY ARE DRUNKEN, BUT NOT WITH WINE; THEY STAGGER, BUT NOT WITH STRONG DRINK.
    Isa 31:4-FOR THUS HATH THE LORD SPOKEN UNTO ME, LIKE AS THE LION AND THE YOUNG LION ROARING ON HIS PREY, WHEN A MULTITUDE OF SHEPHERDS IS CALLED FORTH AGAINST HIM, HE WILL NOT BE AFRAID OF THEIR VOICE, NOR ABASE HIMSELF FOR THE NOISE OF THEM: SO SHALL THE LORD OF HOSTS COME DOWN TO FIGHT FOR MOUNT ZION, AND FOR THE HILL THEREOF.
    Isa 34:8-FOR IT IS THE DAY OF THE LORD'S VENGEANCE, AND THE YEAR OF RECOMPENCES FOR THE CONTROVERSY OF ZION.
    Ps 69:35-FOR GOD WILL SAVE ZION.

24-THE END OF THE ANTICHRIST

    One way to defeat an army is to destroy the commanding general or their command structure at the very beginning of the battle. Apparently, this is when the leaders of the rebellion against Jesus are destroyed.
    As Jesus returns, the Antichrist shall stand up against Him, but shall be broken by spiritual power. Jesus shall consume him with the breath of His mouth. He shall be destroyed with the brightness (or splendor, or glory) of the coming of the King of kings.
    The Antichrist and false prophet will be taken and cast alive into a lake of fire, which is burning with brimstone. He is slain and his body destroyed and given to the burning flame. He goes into perdition. Those things that have been determined are now poured upon the Antichrist.
    The burden of the Antichrist will be taken away from Israel’s shoulder. He shall be cut down and fall. His crown is removed. His power and dominion is destroyed. Israel shall be delivered.
    Dan 8:25-HE (the Antichrist) SHALL ALSO STAND UP AGAINST THE PRINCE OF PRINCES (Jesus); BUT HE SHALL BE BROKEN WITHOUT HAND.
    2 Thes 2:8-THAT WICKED (which is the Antichrist)…THE LORD SHALL CONSUME WITH THE SPIRIT (or breath) OF HIS MOUTH, AND SHALL DESTROY WITH THE BRIGHTNESS (or splendor, or glory, or appearance) OF HIS COMING.
    Rev 19:20-AND THE BEAST WAS TAKEN, AND WITH HIM THE FALSE PROPHET THAT WROUGHT MIRACLES BEFORE HIM, WITH WHICH HE DECEIVED THEM THAT HAD RECEIVED THE MARK OF THE BEAST, AND THEM THAT WORSHIPED HIS IMAGE. THESE BOTH WERE CAST ALIVE INTO A LAKE OF FIRE BURNING WITH BRIMSTONE.
    Dan 7:11-I BEHELD EVEN TILL THE BEAST (or Antichrist) WAS SLAIN, AND HIS BODY DESTROYED, AND GIVEN TO THE BURNING FLAME.
    Rev 17:8-THE BEAST (or Antichrist) THAT THOU SAWEST…SHALL…GO INTO PERDITION.
    Rev 17:11-AND THE BEAST (which is the Antichrist)…GOETH INTO PERDITION.
    Dan 9:27-AND THAT DETERMINED SHALL BE POURED UPON THE DESOLATE (which is the Antichrist).
    Ezek 21:27-I WILL OVERTURN, OVERTURN, OVERTURN, IT: AND IT SHALL BE NO MORE, UNTIL HE COME WHOSE RIGHT IT IS; AND I WILL GIVE IT HIM.
    Isa 10:27-AND IT SHALL COME TO PASS IN THAT DAY, THAT HIS BURDEN SHALL BE TAKEN AWAY FROM OFF THY SHOULDER, AND HIS YOKE FROM OFF THY NECK, AND THE YOKE SHALL BE DESTROYED BECAUSE OF THE ANOINTING.
    Ezek 21:25,26-AND THOU, PROFANE WICKED PRINCE OF ISRAEL, WHOSE DAY IS COME, WHEN INIQUITY SHALL HAVE AN END, THUS SAITH THE LORD GOD; REMOVE THE DIADEM, AND TAKE OFF THE CROWN: THIS SHALL NOT BE THE SAME: EXALT HIM THAT IS LOW, AND ABASE HIM THAT IS HIGH. This had a partial fulfillment in the past, but also seems to apply to the Antichrist.
    Dan 7:26 NIV-BUT THE COURT WILL SIT, AND HIS POWER WILL BE TAKEN AWAY AND COMPLETELY DESTROYED FOREVER. Dan 7:26-BUT THE JUDGMENT SHALL SIT, AND THEY SHALL TAKE AWAY HIS DOMINION, TO CONSUME AND TO DESTROY IT UNTO THE END.
    Mic 5:6-AND THEY SHALL WASTE THE LAND OF ASSYRIA WITH THE SWORD, AND THE LAND OF NIMROD IN THE ENTRANCES THEREOF: THUS SHALL HE DELIVER US FROM THE ASSYRIAN, WHEN HE COMETH INTO OUR LAND, AND WHEN HE TREADETH WITHIN OUR BORDERS.

25-THE KINGDOM OF THE ANTICHRIST WOULD BE DESTROYED

    When Jesus returns, He will destroy the kingdom of the Antichrist. He shall break or smash it into pieces; there will be nothing left. It will be ground to powder. There will be no trace of it left at all.
    Dan 2:34-THOU SAWEST (or you continued looking) TILL THAT A STONE (or Rock) WAS CUT OUT WITHOUT HANDS (or not by human hands), WHICH SMOTE (or struck) THE IMAGE (or statue) UPON HIS FEET THAT WERE OF IRON AND CLAY, AND BRAKE (or smashed) THEM TO PIECES.
    Dan 2:44-BUT IT SHALL BREAK IN PIECES (or crush) AND CONSUME ALL THESE KINGDOMS (and bring them to an end-NIV), AND IT SHALL STAND (or endure) FOR EVER.
    Dan 2:45-FORASMUCH AS THOU SAWEST THAT THE STONE (or the Rock) (which is Jesus) WAS CUT OUT OF THE MOUNTAIN WITHOUT HANDS (or not by human hands). This is Jesus.
    Jesus is the Stone. AND THAT IT (a stone or rock) (smote or struck the image or statue upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and) BRAKE (or crushed) IN PIECES THE IRON, THE BRASS (or bronze), THE CLAY, THE SILVER, AND THE GOLD. Jesus returns at Armageddon. The empire of the Antichrist is destroyed and crushed.
    Dan 2:35-THEN WAS THE IRON, THE CLAY, THE BRASS, THE SILVER, AND THE GOLD, BROKEN TO PIECES TOGETHER (or at the same time). All traces of the four empires are broken to pieces. The empire of the Antichrist has the characteristics (or elements) of all the previous empires.

    When the Stone falls on these, it will grind them to powder. As a result, they BECAME LIKE THE CHAFF OF THE SUMMER THRESHINGFLOORS; AND THE WIND CARRIED THEM AWAY, THAT NO PLACE WAS FOUND FOR THEM (or without leaving a trace). The statue was crushed so completely, it became as chaff blown away by the wind. No trace of the EEC, or the Roman Empire, or the Grecian, or the Medo-Persian, or the Babylonian Empire will be left.
    Dan 2:35 continues, AND THE STONE (or Rock) (which is Jesus) THAT SMOTE (or struck) THE IMAGE (or statue) BECAME A GREAT MOUNTAIN.

26-THE LEADERS OF JUDAH WILL SAY THIS

    As the Battle of Armageddon transpires, the leaders of Judah will believe that the people who live in Jerusalem will be their strength, because the Lord is their God.
    It is written, Zech 12:5-AND THE GOVERNORS (or leaders) OF JUDAH SHALL SAY IN THEIR HEART, THE INHABITANTS (or people) OF JERUSALEM SHALL BE MY STRENGTH (the people…are strong) IN (or because) THE LORD OF HOSTS (is) THEIR GOD.

27-PROPHECIES CONCERNING JERUSALEM AND JUDAH

    In the day of the Lord’s return, God will make the leaders of Judah strong. They shall consume the people around them. Jerusalem will remain intact. THE LORD WILL SAVE THE DWELLINGS OF JUDAH FIRST, SO THAT THE HONOR OF THE HOUSE OF DAVID AND OF JERUSALEM’S INHABITANTS MAY NOT BE GREATER THAN THAT OF JUDAH-Zech 12:7 NIV. The Lord will defend the people of Jerusalem so that even the feeble among them will be strong like David. Judah will also fight at Jerusalem.
    It is written, Zech 12:6,7-IN THAT DAY WILL I MAKE THE GOVERNORS (or leaders) OF JUDAH LIKE AN HEARTH (or firepot) OF FIRE AMONG THE WOOD (or woodpile), AND LIKE A (flaming) TORCH OF FIRE IN A SHEAF; AND THEY SHALL DEVOUR (or consume) ALL THE PEOPLE ROUND ABOUT, ON THE RIGHT HAND AND ON THE LEFT: AND (or but) JERUSALEM SHALL BE INHABITED (or remain intact) AGAIN IN HER OWN PLACE, EVEN IN JERUSALEM.
    Zech 12:8-IN THAT DAY SHALL THE LORD DEFEND (or shield) THE INHABITANTS OF JERUSALEM; AND (or so) HE THAT IS FEEBLE AMONG THEM AT THAT DAY SHALL BE AS (or like) DAVID; AND THE HOUSE OF DAVID SHALL BE AS GOD, AS THE ANGEL OF THE LORD (going) BEFORE THEM.
    Zech 12:7-THE LORD ALSO SHALL SAVE THE TENTS (or dwellings) OF JUDAH FIRST, THAT THE GLORY (or honor) OF THE HOUSE OF DAVID AND THE GLORY OF THE INHABITANTS OF JERUSALEM DO NOT MAGNIFY THEMSELVES AGAINST JUDAH (or may not be greater than that of Judah-NIV).
    Zech 14:14-AND JUDAH ALSO SHALL FIGHT AT JERUSALEM.

28-JESUS WILL BREAK THE YOKE OFF THEIR NECKS

    When Jesus returns, He will destroy the yokes from off His people; they will no longer be enslaved by foreigners.
    It is written, Jere 30:8-FOR IT SHALL COME TO PASS IN THAT DAY, SAITH THE LORD OF HOSTS, THAT I WILL BREAK HIS YOKE FROM OFF THY (or their) NECK, AND WILL BURST THY (or their) BONDS, AND STRANGERS (or foreigners) SHALL NO MORE SERVE THEMSELVES OF HIM (or no longer…enslave them NIV).

29-THE OUTCOME OF THOSE THAT FOUGHT AGAINST JERUSALEM

    Those that choose to fight against Jerusalem shall be cut to pieces. Jesus will seek to destroy all the nations that came against it. Those that fought against Jerusalem will suffer a horrible death, as their flesh will rot away while they are still standing on their feet. Their eyes will rot (or disintegrate, or consume away) in their sockets, and their tongues will rot away in their mouth.
    Isa 29:7-AND THE MULTITUDE OF ALL THE NATIONS THAT FIGHT AGAINST ARIEL (or Jerusalem-Lion of God), EVEN ALL THAT FIGHT AGAINST HER AND HER MUNITION, AND THAT DISTRESS HER, SHALL BE AS A DREAM OF A NIGHT VISION.
    Zech 12:3-Regarding Jerusalem, it is written, ALL THAT BURDEN THEMSELVES WITH IT SHALL BE CUT IN PIECES, THOUGH ALL THE PEOPLE OF THE EARTH BE GATHERED TOGETHER AGAINST IT.
    Zech 12:9-AND IT SHALL COME TO PASS IN THAT DAY, THAT I WILL SEEK TO DESTROY ALL THE NATIONS THAT COME AGAINST JERUSALEM.
    Zech 14:12-AND THIS SHALL BE THE PLAGUE WHEREWITH THE LORD WILL SMITE ALL THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE FOUGHT AGAINST JERUSALEM; THEIR FLESH SHALL CONSUME AWAY WHILE THEY STAND UPON THEIR FEET, AND THEIR EYES SHALL CONSUME AWAY IN THEIR HOLES, AND THEIR TONGUE SHALL CONSUME AWAY IN THEIR MOUTH.

30-THE BATTLE—THE LORD FIGHTS WITH HIS WORD

(Commentary)

    The Antichrist and the kings of the earth, with their armies, are gathered to make war against Jesus and His army. The Lord goes forth to fight. When He speaks the Word, things happen.
    Jesus thunders from heaven. He utters His voice. Like a warrior, He will shout and utter the battle cry out of Zion. The remnant are slain with the sword of His mouth. The earth also is smitten. The wicked are slain with the breath of His lips. Who can endure the day of the Lord?

31-THE BATTLE—THE LORD FIGHTS WITH FIRE

    Jesus comes with chariots like a whirlwind.
    He comes with flames of fire and with His Word. A fire went before Him. He rained fire and brimstone on the wicked.
    Fire came out of His mouth. He spoke, and fire went forth. His tongue was as a devouring fire. His fury was poured out like fire. He comes in flaming fire, taking vengeance on them.
    The foundations of the mountains were set on fire. The mountains quaked, and the hills melted; rocks were thrown down by Him.
    The earth was burned; the fire consumed the earth.
    Jesus burns up His enemies. Indeed, the earth shall be devoured with the fire of His jealousy.
    The people of the world shall be burned. They shall be as the burning of lime. Who can endure the fierceness of His anger?

    Isa 33:10-NOW WILL I RISE, SAITH THE LORD; NOW WILL I BE EXALTED; NOW WILL I LIFT UP MYSELF.
    Isa 33:11-YE SHALL CONCEIVE CHAFF, YE SHALL BRING FORTH STUBBLE (or straw): YOUR BREATH, AS FIRE, SHALL DEVOUR (or consume) YOU.
    Isa 33:12-AND THE PEOPLE SHALL BE AS THE BURNINGS OF LIME: AS THORNS CUT UP SHALL THEY BE BURNED IN THE FIRE (or set ablaze).
    Isa 66:14,15-THE HAND OF THE LORD SHALL BE KNOWN TOWARD HIS SERVANTS, AND HIS INDIGNATION (or fury) (shown) TOWARD HIS ENEMIES (or foes). FOR, BEHOLD, THE LORD WILL COME WITH FIRE, AND WITH HIS CHARIOTS LIKE A WHIRLWIND, TO RENDER HIS ANGER WITH FURY, AND HIS REBUKE WITH FLAMES OF FIRE.
    Isa 66:16-FOR BY FIRE AND BY HIS SWORD (or the words He speaks) WILL THE LORD PLEAD (or execute judgment) WITH (or upon) ALL FLESH.
    Lk 12:49-Jesus said, I AM COME TO SEND FIRE ON THE EARTH; AND WHAT WILL I, IF IT BE ALREADY KINDLED?
    Nah 1:5-THE MOUNTAINS QUAKE AT HIM, AND THE HILLS MELT, AND THE EARTH IS BURNED AT HIS PRESENCE, YEA, THE WORLD, AND ALL THAT DWELL THEREIN.
    Nah 1:6-WHO CAN STAND BEFORE HIS INDIGNATION? AND WHO CAN ABIDE IN THE FIERCENESS OF HIS ANGER? HIS FURY IS POURED OUT LIKE FIRE, AND THE ROCKS ARE THROWN DOWN BY HIM.
    Ps 11:6-UPON THE WICKED HE SHALL RAIN SNARES, FIRE AND BRIMSTONE, AND AN HORRIBLE TEMPEST: THIS SHALL BE THE PORTION OF THEIR CUP.
    Ps 18:8-THERE WENT UP A SMOKE OUT OF HIS NOSTRILS, AND FIRE OUT OF HIS MOUTH DEVOURED: COALS WERE KINDLED BY IT.
    Ps 18:12,13-AT THE BRIGHTNESS THAT WAS BEFORE HIM HIS THICK CLOUDS PASSED, HAIL STONES AND COALS OF FIRE. THE LORD ALSO THUNDERED IN THE HEAVENS, AND THE HIGHEST GAVE HIS VOICE; HAIL STONES AND COALS OF FIRE.
    Ps 46:9-HE BREAKETH THE BOW, AND CUTTETH THE SPEAR IN SUNDER; HE BURNETH THE CHARIOT IN THE FIRE.
    Ps 50:3-OUR GOD SHALL COME, AND SHALL NOT KEEP SILENCE: A FIRE SHALL DEVOUR BEFORE HIM, AND IT SHALL BE VERY TEMPESTUOUS ROUND ABOUT HIM.
    Ps 97:3-For A FIRE GOETH BEFORE HIM, AND BURNETH UP HIS ENEMIES ROUND ABOUT.
    Rev 19:19-AND I SAW THE BEAST (which is the Antichrist), AND THE KINGS OF THE EARTH, AND THEIR ARMIES, GATHERED TOGETHER TO MAKE WAR AGAINST HIM (which is Jesus) THAT SAT ON THE HORSE, AND AGAINST HIS ARMY.
    2 Sam 22:9-THERE WENT UP A SMOKE OUT OF HIS NOSTRILS, AND FIRE OUT OF HIS MOUTH DEVOURED: COALS WERE KINDLED BY IT.
    2 Sam 22:13-THROUGH THE BRIGHTNESS BEFORE HIM WERE COALS OF FIRE KINDLED.
    2 Thes 1:8-The Lord comes IN FLAMING FIRE TAKING VENGEANCE ON THEM THAT KNOW NOT GOD, AND THAT OBEY NOT THE GOSPEL OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.
    Zech 14:3-THEN SHALL THE LORD GO FORTH, AND FIGHT AGAINST THOSE NATIONS, AS WHEN HE FOUGHT IN THE DAY OF BATTLE.
    Zeph 3:8-FOR ALL THE EARTH SHALL BE DEVOURED WITH THE FIRE OF MY JEALOUSY.
